Every inventor hopes to solve a problem. For me, I wanted to create a thinner, lighter MagSafe case that would to stop sliding and shearing off accessories. Along the way, users have shared additional functionality that our patented OpenCase MagSafe Case provides, including optimizing wireless charging. Today, I want to share yet another perk of the OpenCase MagSafe Case that came to us via a customer--an iPhone stand on-the-go.
OpenCase MagSafe Case + Accessory = iPhone Stand
We deeply value our relationship with our customers, like you. We're here to help and what we've discovered through running this little start-up is that you are too. When you learn something, you share it with us, which helps us connect the dots for other customers and enhance their experience with our products.
So, when a customer told us that you could create an impromptu iPhone stand using an OpenCase MagSafe Case and an accessory, we were all ears. To prop up your phone, all you had to do was wedge your accessory into the ledge of the "open" space and place it on a flat, stable surface. And we were like, "Wow, what a simple, effective solution!" And from there, we started sharing it with other customers. This is how the OpenCase community works--real people helping real people.
Some Considerations

- The accessory needs to be large enough to create an effective kickstand. Things like the MagWallet or FillerPlate work particularly well. It's also really important that you assemble everything on a flat, stable surface, because it's just wedged in there, not attached.
- The "wedge in the ledge" technique for creating an iPhone stand can work in portrait or landscape. If you want to film yourself real quick, it's pretty handy in portrait. If you want to sit and watch your favorite YouTuber (Maybe Stephen Robles, Marina Tech, Lexy Savvides, Jay Daniels... the list goes on!), landscape is a great option.

- If you're someone that lives and breathes MagSafe stands and needs them to be super stable, then this solution probably won't work for you. It's a nice thing that works in a pinch, but not in every situation, at every angle or with every accessory. If you're a devoted kickstand user, you'd probably be happier with a MagSafe accessory with a built-in kickstand.
- On the other hand, if you're a much more casual user, this might work well for you. One of the nicest parts is that it doesn't create more bulk to your accessory, because there isn't a stand built into the accessory. For instance, when you wedge your MagWallet in the ledge of the OpenCase iPhone Case, the MagWallet becomes stand. You don't have to have a magsafe wallet with a built-in stand. No extra thickness, no extra weight.
